Message sa recent youth fellowship natin is from 1 Cor., if I remember it right: "'Everything is beneficial' -- but not everything is necessary..." It's just a fad. It is just fashion. And it's not necessary.
Also should be taken into consideration is the fact that "the body is the temple of the Holy Spirit". Anything that can destroy or damage His temple is bad. Anything that DOES NOT DO GOOD for His temple is just bad.
Pwede mo ring itanong, "What would Jesus do?" Do you think Jesus would consider having piercings? No, di ba?
There are many other ways to answer your question, pero all answers say one thing: Piercings in themselves are not bad. But they're not beneficial.
I won't answer this question by saying "Yes, it's bad" or "No, it's fine."
I just want to share this verse from the old testament:
Exodus 21:6
"then his master must take him before the judges. He shall take him to the door or the doorpost and pierce his ear with an awl. Then he will be his servant for life."
Before pala, when men have their ears pierced, it means they are servant for life.
This verse has the same implication...
Psalm 40:6
"Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but my ears you have pierced."
David was saying, in effect, that He is a servant of God as long as he lives. [But doesn't necessarily mean he has pierced ear]
